~~~Every once in a while, a photograph arrests me in my tracks, burns my eyes with its details, makes me digress in a million and one directions, from image to words and then back to image and so on for what seems like a long, long time.
But most of all such photographs make me pay attention, real attention, make me forget, for a brief moment, what is on the shore, on the land, so powerful is their impact, so generative the tension between unspeakable adversity and creative energy. This morning, it is “Gaza Winter 2012” by Gaza photographer Mahmoud Abu Hamda, on which I stumbled on the FB Wall of a friend from Jordan. Thanks, Diala, for sharing it with us all!~~~
thank you…shared from another friend with a perceptive eye….the Russian winter of Gaza and others…the seas the people cannot reach…the resources out of touch…it is a moment of time caught in eternity…
Your words, dear Diala, are more equal to the image than mine were. Thanks for sending them!
