~~The Tenth Golden Apricot Film Festival kicked off this week in Yerevan and will run till July 14. Two near-legendary Armenian artists will be honored this year: the very visible and energetic Charles Aznavour, 89, and the “silent” Ardavazt Peleshian, 75, author of a handful of highly original films and of the theory of “distance montage.” On this occasion, I will be re-posting, first, my article on Peleshian, which appeared in AIM Magazine in the 1990s. AIM has since ceased publication. Later in the week, I will re-post the Aznavour article.~~
Thank you for this Taline. Talk about knowing about a master after they are gone and being happy that they have left so much to discover them with.
