Yes, that’s the most immediate and authentic response which a friend posted on FB: “At last, at last,” he wrote. Indeed, some eighty years after its writing, Hagop Oshagan’s Mnatsortats has seen the light of day in a magnificent translation by G.M.Goshgarian. This release, which will be available on November 25, includes only one section of Oshagan’s monumental, unfinished work of 1800 pages.
This publication is a major literary event not only for Armenians but for the English-reading public the world over. In the past, I have written about Hagop Oshagan, who is also my grandfather on my mother’s side. On this unprecedented occasion, I will repost some old postings and write new ones.
The book is available for pre-order on Amazon.
